Thisis the almost forgotten first cut of Gene Roddenberry's 2nd pilot andwas used by him to sell the series to NBC way back in 1965 or 66, Ithink! It has a different beginning with a few additional minutes(Teaser and 1st act) and additional or altered music, including theend credits. The four acts seem to be the same as in the finalversion, known from the TV broadcast and DVD's. As far as I know, thisversion was never broadcast in TV, and there was never an officialrelease from Paramount Home Video or other companies either on VHS or DVD. There WAS, on the other hand,an unofficial VHS version available about 20 years ago from someobscure fan circles in the States. This seems to be a VHS rip from thatsource, it's not from me! The quality is rather poor, don't expect toomuch, but, hey, you don't get this one any better! The additional footage does not add much to the story, but it's interesting for the hardcore fans and completists (like me ) If anyone can provode additional information on this one (or wantsto correct any from me), he may do so!
