|  | Thank you for the 'Fury' tomcat but would appreciate it in avi/mp4. Something my 38'' flat screen Hanspree tv can read/handle ? ta anyway I know ur not gonna cater for those of us who cant handle the superiority of the dreaded mkv format. |

| | try use Xilisoft video converter, it works like a charm. i convert all of my mkv file to MP4 format to put on an external hardrive and play. You can even compress it to almost any size with minimal video quality loss. You can convert to many other format. Works go to convert so that you PS3 can recognize them as well. But i've upgraded to ps4 and doesn't recognize external video files yet, but no biggie, just hook my external drive up to my Blu Ray disc player or my 60-inch Samsung TV and it plays fine when converted to whatever format you like. And they have the full version on here with keygen & patch. i compressed a file from 8gb to 2gb with little quality loss. Check it out and let me know what u think. i have a 4TB external HD with about 500-plus movies |

no need to convert it in mp4 just remux
"Xilisoft video converter" is bad solution for this ,do that using ...
1)megui /download/MeGUI_2296_x86.zip extract/
2)extract it and ender file MeGUI_2296_x86 and d clik on MeGUI green icon , dont update it
3)after open it go tools /HDstream extractor and load the mkv (click at top "select file as input")
4)Click video and audio but extract video as raw stream "h264"
4)THEN open tools / muxer/mp4 , load the streams you extract and make your mp4
