Trama

Doc Brown, lo spiritato inventore, comunica al suo amico Marty McFly che per il suo bene e quello dei suoi futuri figli è opportuno che intraprenda un viaggio nel futuro, nel 2015, grazie alla famosa DeLorean alimentata da plutonio che già aveva condotto entrambi nel passato nel 1955, al fine di "correggere" gli avvenimenti che stanno per verificarsi. La missione nel 2015 ha successo, ma durante il viaggio di ritorno Marty si accorge di strani mutamenti: la tranquilla cittadina di Hill Valley è diventata una città malfamata, dominata dal perfido Biff Tannen, diventato ricco grazie a un almanacco sportivo che Marty aveva comprato nel 2015 e a lui rubato da un Biff Tannen quasi centenario, il quale riportava tutte le classifiche sportive dal 1955 in poi, consentendogli di vincere tutte le scommesse. Il laboratorio-officina di Doc è stato distrutto e l'inventore, dichiarato legalmente insano di mente, si trova rinchiuso in una casa di cura. Nel tentativo di riportare tutto alla normalità, Marty deve tornare nel 1955 per impedire che il Biff Tannen del futuro consegni al Biff Tannen giovane l'almanacco del 2015 che gli consente di conoscere in anticipo i risultati degli eventi sportivi. Alla fine riesce a modificare gli eventi, in modo che il "suo" 1985 ritorni normale, ma a causa di un uragano che scatena lampi elettrici, la DeLorean viene risucchiata nel vortice temporale, lasciando Marty nel 1955...
