This week GHI is called in to uncover the truth behind ghostly stories that centerpiece of Cambuquira, Brazil. According to local history, the Priest put a spiritual curse over the entire city before leaving the area. Soon after, the economy crashed, illness spread through the area, and the city became a desolate urban wasteland. With its empy streets and paranormal activity, Cambuquira is a ghost town in every sense of the word. A few years ago, renovations began to bring the Grande Hotel back to life. However, this restoration has also caused the cityâ™s spirits to rise again and has seemingly only confirmed that the Priestâ™s curse remains in effect. The members of GHI will visit these woods to discover if this chapel can provide any answers to the cityâ™s plight Then itâ™s off to the scene of a bloody crime nearly 70 years ago, Apa Streetâ™s Little Castle in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In the late 1930â™s, the aristocratic Reis family owned the property. Late one night the police were called after a servant heard a series of gunshots. When the authorities arrived they found the bodies of brothers Alvaro and Armando Reis, along with their mother, Candida. The report concluded that it was a murder-suicide in which Alvaro killed his family, and then himself, after an argument spiraled out of control. This family tragedy was the talk of the community for years, with many doubting the findings of the police investigation. Some believed the murderer was actually another person, who escaped the castle undetected before the police arrived. The notorious reputation of the property has delayed its renovation and transformation into a community center for the homeless. Current owner Maria Eulina is desperate for GHI to find the truth behind the huntingâ™s and put the ghost stories to rest once and for all.
