Trojan have done an excellent job with the digital transfer of the source material and the sound quality is superb throughout. However, what really sets this one apart from the other two Ska box sets (both of which are also excellent) is the diversity of styles: both up and down-beat (some even bordering hypnotic) tracks, but with some heavier R&B, jazz, and swing-era influences also on display. And one or two that nicely mark the transition to the mellower period that followed. (By the way, any Shaky fans are in for a treat.)
