Tchaikovsky's piano concerto no. 1 - The Neasden Connection   Information about album: This three-disc set outlines the late-'60s/early-'70s reggae scene in the U.K. Reggae became very popular in the late '60s in the U.K. and many of the chief practitioners were of West Indian descent, and they helped the music made in the U.K. sound as authentic as the music coming from Jamaica. Each disc on The Trojan British Reggae Box Set has tracks from a specific time period; disc one features tracks from 1968 to 1969, disc two is all from 1970, and disc three is 1970 to 1972. Most of the artists on the disc are fairly obscure in relation to their Jamaican counterparts; only Laurel Aitken, Delroy Williams, and the Cimarons will be familiar to all but die-hard reggae fans or those who were fans of British reggae at the time. Despite the high level of obscurity involved, the music is pretty solid reggae and many of the 50 tracks are available for the first time on CD.
