Protagonista della serie è una squadra balistica del sottomarino di classe Ohio che dopo aver ricevuto l'ordine di lanciare una bomba nucleare in Pakistan, decide di non obbedire agli ordini e di rifugiarsi su un'isola disabitata chiamata "Sainte Marina", dichiarandosi inoltre la più piccola nazione possedente delle armi nucleari.
