Remington Steele Season 5 (1987)
Episode 93 and 94 Steeled With A Kiss First aired 17 April 1987 On 15 May 1986 NBC cancelled Remington Steele at the end of the fourth season due to low ratings.That same day it was reported that Pierce Brosnan had signed a multi-picture deal to play the next James Bond. Unfortunately for Brosnan, NBC had a 60-day option on his contract. NBC, thinking that having the next James Bond would bolster ratings, changed its mind and on 15 July 1986, hours before the 60-day option ran out, rescinded the Remington Steele cancellation. Timothy Dalton was hired to be the next James Bond and Pierce Brosnan did the fifth and last season of Remington Steele. The fifth season of Remington Steele consisted of three 2-hour movies which the fans did not like, and the show was cancelled for good in 1987. Steeled With A Kiss, a 2-hour movie, is the last episode of Remington Steele. Steele has inherited a castle in Ireland, and he and Laura go there to hide Tony Roselli, who is thought to be a double agent and must prove that he is not. Ephrem Zimbalist, Stephanies father, returns in his recurring role as Steele's mentor Daniel Chalmers. Chalmers must turn Roselli over to the KBG as part of a scam he is running, and reveals a secret before he I do hate spoilers, dont you??? An interesting note is that the producer for Season 1 of Remington Steele, Glenn Gordon Caron, went on to create a relatively obscure little show called Moonlighting, about a woman detective and her male side kick starring little-known actors Cybil Shepard and Bruce Willis ...
